Mentorship Program Spotlight: Mary Grace Hyde and Mo Stockon

Did you know a pillar of the Student Service Program is establishing the importance of network building in students, as well as providing access to community leaders and Student Service Program alumni?

Our exclusive Mentorship Program aims to develop long-term mutually beneficial relationships between mentors and motivated high school students, both who are passionate about giving back to the community. Mentees will graduate from the Student Service Program with an action plan for personal success, not only through the Ryan Nece Foundation’s educational curriculum but through ongoing meetings with their mentor.

We wanted to take a moment to spotlight one of our successful mentor/mentee partnerships: Mary Grace Hyde (rising senior) and Mo Stockon (Student Service Program alumni).

From Mentor Mo Stockon (Student Service Program – Class of 2017):

“I have loved getting to mentor and work with Mary Grace so far this past year and have really enjoyed seeing her experience a real event from a work setting earlier this year at The Motor Enclave! Thank you again so much for the opportunity and the trust through this process. Mary Grace is an outstanding, warm, genuine individual and like all the Ryan Nece Foundation students, has an extremely bright future. She speaks very highly of you, Melissa and the program as a whole. As an alumnus of a very early class, seeing how much the program has grown over the last decade makes my heart so full. Congratulations!”

From Mentee Mary Grace Hyde (Student Service Program – Class of 2026):

“I love having Mo as my mentor! She helps me in so many ways, like giving me opportunities to come shadow her at events she’s working and making new connections through that. Also, when we meet for lunch, she shows me all the work she does and helps show me different career paths I could go down! She gives me a lot of advice on leadership and work overall, which I find very helpful! We are very compatible and have really good conversations where I feel I learn a lot every time I meet with her! I can’t wait to work more with her over this next year, and I’m so grateful we were paired together!”

Stories like Mo and Mary Grace’s are exactly why the Mentorship Program is such a vital part of the Student Service Program. By bridging generations of service-minded leaders, we create a ripple effect of encouragement, opportunity, and growth. These relationships go beyond guidance. They build confidence, expand networks, and cultivate a shared commitment to making a difference.
