The 11th Commandment

I have learned many mantras to live by throughout my time with the Ryan Nece Foundation: “If not you then who?” and “Power of Giving” just to name a few. Today Walt, a NOLA native, taught me the eleventh commandment, “Be ye flexible so that you don’t get bent out of shape.”Yes, it rained today, yes, folding thousands of shirts is a daunting task, yes waking up at 6:30am is not my ideal wake up time for the summer, but it was a chance for me to face my biggest challenge, lack of flexibility. Today I was challenged to step outside of my comfort zone and the results were amazing. I learned more about myself and the others in the group, I helped prepare a school for disadvantaged kids, and I lived the truth of the Power of Giving.
