Meet Our Students: Gabriela Diaz

Gabriela “Gabby” Diaz is 16 years old and attends Sickles High School. Gabby loves to hang out with her friends or listen to music during her free time. Some of her favorite albums include AM by Artic Monkeys and Lush by Mitski. Gabby not only speaks English, but Spanish and French as well. She is fluent in English and Spanish and intermediate in French. For Gabby, the power of giving means that both groups are interconnected, which helps to brace empowerment. This means when a person or organization helps people in need, the person doing the giving also feel empowered in how they were able to help their community – big or small. The person who was the receiver of these actions also feels good and appreciated. Giving to others, no matter how big or small, helps build connections between people.
