The Ryan Nece Foundation stands in support of all of the communities affected by Hurricane Helene. We will strategically dedicate resources to improve the areas impacted.
As you may know, our Student Service Program’s domestic service-learning trips have often benefited communities rebuilding from natural disasters, like those impacted by hurricanes Ian (Southwest Florida), Katrina (New Orleans), Irma (The Florida Keys), Michael (Panama City Beach), and Harvey (Houston). You can read more about these efforts on our blog.
How to Help Helene Recovery Efforts Today:
- Pinellas County is seeking volunteers to help with local recovery efforts.
- Join Feeding Tampa Bay’s Emergency Response Volunteer Team, which works in partnership with local emergency operations centers to distribute food, hygiene items and water.
- Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay is part of a national organization, which also has locations in Central Florida and North Central Florida. Recent projects include covering vulnerable homes with roof tarps and coordinating hurricane relief kits.
- World Central Kitchen is serving free meals across Florida and other states impacted by the storm.
- Operation BBQ Relief deploys mobile kitchens to fuel communities and first responders in areas hit by natural disasters. The nonprofit is serving meals around Florida, including St. Petersburg.
- The state of Florida has launched its Florida Disaster Fund to help Helene-affected communities. It is part of the Volunteer Florida Foundation.
Lastly, on November 12th & November 14th, the Ryan Nece Foundation will be hosting its annual Power of ThanksGiving Celebrations. We expect registration numbers to be higher than previous years as the people in our community rebuild their lives. More details to come soon!
We will continue to post reputable resources on ways you can support those impacted by Hurricane Helene on our social media. We are dedicated to raising prolonged awareness, as we know recovery will take years for our community.
We will get through this together. Because together, we are Florida strong.
