Experiencing the Dominican

My first foreign country experience has certainly been an experience thus far. We’ve done so much and it’s only been two days. First and foremost today we made our way to the Cigar Family school, through the winding and extremely complicated Dominican road system. The school was incredible, they give so much and they have a really nice system to give as much as they can. More incredible was meeting the kids at the school, for just a few hours I got a glimpse into the reality these children experience every day. They put on an amazing show for us including singing, dancing and karate. The only regret I have is that I didn’t learn enough Spanish to carry out detailed conversations with these kids because they were SO precious and SO interesting. I cannot wait to give more and help this community out tomorrow.
