For this week’s Meet our Teens Tuesday we would like you to meet Michael Barfield Jr. Michael is a member of the Student Service Program (SSP) class of 2019. During his time in the SSP, Michael got the opportunity to visit Tampa Bay Watch to learn about sea life and pollution, serve at the Power of ThanksGiving event, and volunteer with local organizations like Trinity Café and the Spring. When reflecting on his experiences with the SSP, Michael said “Volunteering has allowed me to be more grateful and offered me a chance to help others in a variety of way. These are attributes I will carry forward as I grow up.”

This fall, Michael will be attending Savannah State University to study Global Logistics and International Business. In his future, Michael hopes to spread the power of giving by working with organizations that help underserved populations.
