Today, we had the opportunity to volunteer with Para la Naturaleza and the Humane Society of Puerto Rico and ended the day by exploring Old San Juan.

Para la Naturaleza
We got an early start to the day and headed out to Para la Naturaleza, where we met some incredible people who taught us all about the fruits, vegetables, and plants growing in their garden. We even got to sample some of the fresh produce! After learning about the garden, we jumped in by pulling weeds and planting new crops to help keep everything thriving.

Humane Society of Puerto Rico
Next, we made our way to the Humane Society, stopping for a quick lunch along the way. Once we arrived, we split into groups to help wherever we were needed. Some of us walked dogs, others washed dishes, cared for the cats, and even helped bathe some of the puppies. It was so rewarding to spend time with the animals while supporting the staff and volunteers who care for them every day.

Exploring Old San Juan
To wrap up the day, we explored Old San Juan and visited one of the historic forts that was used from the 1700s through World War II. We finished the evening with dinner and chocolate, the perfect ending to an unforgettable day. From learning about sustainable gardening to serving alongside passionate volunteers to caring for animals, today was filled with new experiences, meaningful service, and memories we’ll never forget!
