Hurricane Idalia Disaster-Relief Efforts

The Ryan Nece Foundation stands in support of the communities affected by Hurricane Idalia. We will strategically dedicate resources to improve the areas impacted. As you may know, our Student Service Program’s domestic service-learning trips have often benefited communities rebuilding from natural disasters, like those impacted by hurricanes Ian (Southwest Florida), Katrina (New Orleans), Irma (The Florida Keys), Michael (Panama City Beach), and Harvey (Houston). You can read more about these efforts on our blog.

How to Help

  • The state of Florida has launched its Florida Disaster Fund to help Idalia-affected communities. It is part of the Volunteer Florida Foundation.
  • CARE is giving emergency cash assistance so people can get food, water, housing and supplies, as well as distributing supplies.
  • Mercy Chefs is on the ground providing meals to both the victims of Idalia as well as those who are helping with the recovery.
  • Second Harvest of the Big Bend has a disaster relief fund for Idalia victims.
  • Big Dog Ranch Rescue is helping pets who were in the path of Idalia.

We will continue to post reputable resources on ways you can support those impacted by Hurricane Idalia on our social media. We are dedicated to raising prolonged awareness, as we know recovery will take years for some of these communities.
